Allan Williams Tavisher

Making a few small batches each year and offer travishers  upon request. I offer a standard 4-1/2″ radius and also a 12″ radius.   The 4-1/2′ is great for all general shaping of the seat, and the 12″ is  wonderful for the transitions and forward leg areas. Custom radius can  easily be made upon request.

Bill Carter Planemaker

UK planemaker, Bill Carter, started making planes for himself in the 1970's, these were always  made out of timber. In 1983 he made his first metal plane after seeing a  set of plans in the Woodworker magazine. In 1987 Bill left full time employment to concentrate on plane making at home. We  estimate he has made about 1000 planes.

Philly Planes

Phil Edwards is the craftsman behind Philly Planes,  who are reviving the lost art of wooden plane making in the UK. As a  woodworker with a passion for hand tools, planes in particular, it was  inevitable that he would end up making them himself. From his workshop  in Broadstone, Dorset he makes each individual plane by hand.

Custom made planes derived from both 18th and 19th centuries, both in design  and construction. They are not exact replicas of anyone particular hand  plane, but they encompass, the overall essence and feel of the time period.  Made of quarter sawn hard maple which will provide added stability against  changes in humidity and climate.

Voigt Planes

I build these traditional double-iron planes in my small shop in the Lehigh Valley. They are bespoke planes, made one at a time. I                       use a few basic power tools for rough dimensioning, but the vast majority of work is done by hand, much as it would have been 200 years ago.

Walke Moore Tools

Located in upstate NY, our shop primarily consists of a full-time  professional woodworker and a  mechanical-engineer-turned-hand-tool-woodworker-turned-tool-maker. We  design and try to manufacture everything we sell, but in some cases a  certain component of our tools may not be feasible to produce ourselves.   When we do outsource a portion of our tools, it is exclusively to  local businesses ensuring that everything we sell is 100% American made.   And whether you buy from us or not, we encourage you to support other  premium tool makers whenever possible.
